RekorHD 2MP HD-TVI Varifocal Bullet Camera 2.8-12mm - White IP66

The RekorHD RHDC2812VFBW is a 2MP HD-TVI bullet camera with a 2.8-12mm varifocal lens, delivering 1080p resolution over standard coaxial cable. The varifocal lens allows the field of view to be adjusted between 113° wide angle and 30° telephoto during installation, eliminating the need to swap fixed lenses when coverage requirements change. Thirty-five infrared LEDs provide up to 35m of night vision in complete darkness.

Designed for outdoor perimeter monitoring, car parks, building entrances and driveways, the camera carries IP66 weatherproof protection and operates in temperatures from -30°C to +50°C. The white metal housing measures 88mm diameter by 240mm length, with a mounting bracket that fixes to walls or soffit panels and allows pan and tilt adjustment after installation. The camera runs on 12V DC power and connects to HD-TVI DVRs via BNC coaxial cable.

The 1/2.7" image sensor captures 1920x1080 pixel resolution at 25fps, providing detail sufficient for facial recognition within 5-8m and vehicle number plate reading within 10-12m depending on lighting and lens zoom setting. The varifocal lens is adjusted manually via a thumbwheel on the camera body, allowing installers to dial in the exact coverage angle needed for the installation site without removing the camera or changing hardware.

The infrared LEDs switch on automatically when ambient light falls below the camera's threshold, typically at dusk, and provide invisible illumination that does not disturb residents or alert intruders. The IR range of 35m assumes clear atmospheric conditions — fog, rain and obstructions reduce effective range. The IP66 rating protects against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets, making the camera suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions including coastal and industrial environments.

What type of CCTV system does this camera work with?

This is an HD-TVI camera and requires an HD-TVI compatible DVR or a hybrid DVR that supports HD-TVI input. It will not work with IP-only NVR systems or older analogue-only DVRs. The camera transmits 1080p video over standard coaxial cable (RG59 or similar).

How is the lens adjusted?

The 2.8-12mm varifocal lens is adjusted manually via a thumbwheel on the camera body. During installation, you rotate the wheel to zoom between wide-angle (113° at 2.8mm) and telephoto (30° at 12mm) until the desired field of view is achieved. The setting locks in place once adjusted.

What's the effective night vision range?

The 35 infrared LEDs provide up to 35m of illumination in complete darkness under clear conditions. Effective range reduces in fog, rain or where there are obstructions. For typical residential use, expect reliable night vision out to 20-25m.

Is the camera suitable for coastal or high-humidity environments?

Yes. The IP66 rating protects against dust and high-pressure water jets, making the camera suitable for coastal installations and industrial environments with exposure to salt air, humidity and rain. The operating temperature range of -30°C to +50°C also covers most outdoor UK conditions year-round.
