The RekorHD 2MP 4-channel analogue CCTV kit pairs a 1TB DVR with two 2MP white dome cameras, 20m BNC cables, and a system power supply. The DVR records at 1080p resolution across four channels, with two channels populated by the included dome cameras and two spare channels for expansion. H.265 video compression reduces storage consumption by up to 50% compared to H.264, extending the retention period on the 1TB drive.

Designed for residential and small commercial premises, the kit covers two-camera applications such as front and rear door monitoring, driveway and garden coverage, or shop entrance and till-point surveillance. The dome cameras carry IP66 weatherproof ratings and infrared night vision up to 30m, allowing outdoor installation in exposed locations. The DVR supports perimeter intrusion detection and line crossing detection, triggering recording when movement crosses a defined boundary rather than recording all motion.

The 4-channel DVR sits in a compact housing 440mm wide by 215mm deep by 285mm high, suitable for mounting in a cupboard, loft space or dedicated plant room. Remote monitoring works via the RekorHD app on Android and iOS devices or through a PC client, with simultaneous playback, live view and recording. How much footage does the 1TB drive hold?

Retention depends on recording mode and compression settings. With H.265 compression, continuous recording from two 2MP cameras typically provides 15-25 days of storage. Motion-triggered recording extends this significantly, often to 30-60 days depending on activity levels.

Can additional cameras be added?

Yes. The DVR has four channels with two spare inputs. Additional RekorHD 2MP analogue cameras can be connected using BNC cable, up to the four-camera maximum. Cameras must be analogue HD (AHD, TVI or CVI) and match the 2MP resolution for best compatibility.

What's the night vision range?

The dome cameras provide infrared night vision up to 30m in total darkness. Practical range depends on ambient light and camera angle — monitoring a driveway at 10-15m typically produces clear black-and-white footage at night.

Is professional installation required?

The kit is designed for DIY installation with basic tools. The cameras mount via three screws, BNC cables connect to the DVR, and power is supplied via the included 12V adapter. Setting up detection zones and remote access requires following the manual but does not require specialist knowledge.
