Description
The Knightsbridge OWALL01BKP is a GU10 outdoor wall light with an integrated photocell sensor that automatically switches the light on at dusk and off at dawn. The cylindrical body is made from 201 stainless steel with a powder-coated matt black finish, and the fitting is rated IP54 for outdoor use where protection from dust and water splashes is needed.
Designed for porches, external doorways, building entrances, pathways and patios, the light casts a directional downward beam from a single GU10 bulb (sold separately, up to 20W maximum). The photocell eliminates manual switching, making it practical for security lighting, building access points, and areas where consistent after-dark illumination is required without intervention. The 60mm diameter and 120mm height give a compact profile that sits close to the wall.
The 201 stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance suitable for coastal and urban environments. The matt black powder coat minimises reflective glare and suits contemporary, industrial and minimalist exteriors. The fitting is Class I earthed and requires connection to a suitable outdoor back box with earth continuity. The photocell sensitivity adjusts to natural ambient light levels, so the light activates progressively earlier on overcast winter afternoons and later on bright summer evenings.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GU10 between 4-7W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor accent lighting.
How does the photocell work?
The integrated photocell sensor detects ambient light levels and automatically switches the light on when natural light falls below a threshold at dusk, then switches it off again at dawn. There is no manual override or adjustment — the sensor responds to natural daylight.
Can it be used in coastal locations?
The 201 stainless steel construction and IP54 rating provide corrosion resistance suitable for coastal and urban environments. However, regular cleaning to remove salt deposits will extend the life of the powder coat finish.
What installation method is required?
This is a Class I earthed fitting requiring connection to a suitable outdoor back box with earth continuity. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with current IET wiring regulations.
