Description
The Knightsbridge OLG1 is a cylinder outdoor wall light built from die-cast aluminium with a clear glass diffuser, finished in black with an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water spray. The cylindrical glass sits within a vertical aluminium frame that mounts to the wall via a rectangular backplate, with a single E27 lampholder positioned centrally inside the glass tube.
Designed for external wall mounting beside entrance doors, along pathways, or on patio walls, the fitting casts light through the clear glass in all directions, illuminating both the wall surface behind and the area in front. The 185mm projection from the wall gives the fitting enough standoff to light a doorway clearly without protruding too far into walkways. The 295mm height suits positioning at door-handle height or higher, typically 1.5-2m above ground level for path lighting or 1.6-1.8m for doorway flanking.
The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion in outdoor conditions, and the black powder-coat finish is formulated to withstand UV exposure and temperature variation without fading. The IP54 rating certifies protection against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction, making the fitting suitable for positions under eaves, covered porches, or open-wall positions exposed to rain. The E27 lampholder accepts standard screw-in LED or halogen bulbs up to 15W (sold separately), and dimming capability depends on the bulb chosen rather than the fitting itself.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 15W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for exterior lighting.
Is it weatherproof?
The fitting carries an IP54 rating, certifying protection against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. This makes it suitable for positions under eaves, covered porches, or open-wall positions exposed to rain. It is not submersible and should not be installed where it will be directly hosed down or subjected to high-pressure water jets.
Can it be dimmed?
Dimming depends on the bulb fitted rather than the light fitting itself. If you fit a dimmable LED or halogen bulb and connect the fitting to a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit, it will dim. Check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.
What installation height is recommended?
For doorway flanking positions, 1.6-1.8m above ground level is typical. For path lighting along a wall, 1.5-2m works well. The 185mm projection from the wall means the fitting sits clear of the wall surface and casts light both upwards, downwards and forward.
