Description
The Capri is a 12-14 seater extendable dining table with a wood-effect MDF top and a matte black metal pedestal base. The table extends from 206cm to 400cm using built-in butterfly extension leaves, turning a standard 8-10 person table into a 12-14 person dining surface without needing to store separate leaves. The tabletop is finished with a high-resistance melamine surface that resists scratches, heat marks and moisture better than untreated wood veneer.
Designed for open-plan dining rooms, home offices used for client meetings, and hospitality spaces needing flexible seating, the Capri suits rooms of at least 5m x 4m to allow circulation space when fully extended. The dual-pedestal base keeps the floor clear under the table, avoiding the leg placement issues common with four-leg or trestle tables when seating 12-14 people. At 79cm height the table pairs with standard dining chairs of 45-48cm seat height.
The wood-effect finish on the MDF top provides grain variation and warmth without the maintenance requirements of solid wood, while the matte black edging defines the perimeter and visually ties the top to the metal base. The base itself uses conical pedestals with flared feet, distributing the 107.5kg weight (including extensions) across a stable footprint. The melamine surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and standard household cleaners, making the table suitable for family use and commercial hospitality.

Frequently Asked
How does the extension mechanism work?
The Capri uses butterfly extension leaves stored inside the table frame. When the table is pulled apart, the leaves fold up from the centre and lock into position, extending the length from 206cm to 400cm. No separate leaves need to be stored or carried.
What room size is needed for the table when extended?
At full extension (400cm long, 103cm deep) the table needs at least 5m x 4m of floor space to allow 80-100cm circulation space on all sides for chairs and movement. Smaller rooms can accommodate the table at its base 206cm length.
Is the tabletop solid wood?
No. The top is MDF with a wood-effect veneer finish, sealed with a high-resistance melamine surface. This provides the appearance of wood grain with better resistance to heat, scratches and moisture than untreated solid wood.
How many people can it seat at base length vs extended?
At 206cm the table seats 8-10 people comfortably (allowing 60cm per person). At 400cm extended it seats 12-14, with tighter spacing at 55cm per person or more generous spacing if using the table for 10-12 only.
