Description

The AV:Link HDMI Thinwire is a 1.5m HDMI cable with a 4.5mm diameter body and low-profile connectors that are 40% shorter than standard HDMI plugs. It supports 4K Ultra HD video at 60Hz with up to 18Gbps bandwidth, covering UHD playback, ARC audio return, Ethernet over HDMI, and 3D formats. Gold-plated connectors provide corrosion resistance and maintain signal integrity over repeated connections.

Designed for wall-mounted TVs, desktop monitors and AV installations where space behind the display is limited, the thin cable body routes more easily through cable management channels and behind flush-mounted displays than standard 7-8mm HDMI cables. The shortened connector housings reduce the clearance needed between the back of a TV and the wall, allowing closer mounting. The 1.5m length suits connections between a soundbar and TV, a Blu-ray player and monitor, or a laptop and external display on a desk.

The cable's 4.5mm diameter makes it more flexible than standard-gauge HDMI cables, reducing strain on HDMI sockets when routing around corners or through tight conduit. The slim profile does not compromise bandwidth — full 18Gbps throughput is maintained, supporting 4K at 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma and HDR metadata pass-through. The cable arrives in a sealed retail bag.

Frequently Asked

What resolution and refresh rate does it support?

The cable supports 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) at 60Hz with full 18Gbps bandwidth, which covers HDR10 metadata and 4:4:4 chroma. It also supports 1080p, 1440p and other lower resolutions at higher refresh rates within the 18Gbps limit.

How much shorter are the connectors compared to standard HDMI plugs?

The low-profile connectors are approximately 40% shorter than traditional HDMI plug housings, reducing the clearance needed behind wall-mounted TVs and allowing closer mounting to the wall surface.

Does it support ARC for soundbar connections?

Yes. The cable supports ARC (Audio Return Channel), allowing audio to be sent from a TV back to a soundbar or AV receiver over the same HDMI connection used for video input.

Is the thin cable as durable as standard HDMI cables?

The 4.5mm diameter is thinner than standard 7-8mm HDMI cables, which makes it more flexible but also slightly more vulnerable to crushing or kinking. Avoid sharp bends or placing heavy objects on the cable. For permanent installation behind a wall-mounted display the reduced thickness is an advantage.
