Description

This 6m extension lead connects a 6.3mm stereo jack plug on one end to a 6.3mm stereo jack socket on the other, extending the reach of existing stereo jack cables. The three-conductor wiring carries left and right audio channels plus a common ground, maintaining stereo signal separation across the full 6m length.

Designed for stage, studio and home audio applications, the lead extends connections between instruments and amplifiers, headphones and mixing desks, or monitor speakers and audio interfaces when the original cable run is too short. The female socket accepts any standard 6.3mm stereo plug, while the male plug connects to any standard 6.3mm stereo socket or input.

The moulded plastic housings on both plug and socket protect the solder joints and cable entry points from flex damage during coiling and storage. The 6m length suits typical bedroom studio and small rehearsal room setups where equipment is spread across multiple positions. The cable itself uses standard multi-strand copper conductors with PVC jacket.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between stereo and mono jack leads?

A stereo 6.3mm jack carries two separate audio channels (left and right) plus a ground, using three conductors. A mono jack carries only one audio channel plus ground, using two conductors. This lead is stereo, with three conductors throughout the 6m length.

Can this extend instrument cables?

Yes, though most electric guitar and bass cables use mono jacks rather than stereo. If your instrument cable has a stereo plug (two black rings on the plug shaft), this extension will work. If it has a mono plug (one black ring), you need a mono extension lead instead.

Does the cable introduce signal loss over 6m?

All cables introduce some signal loss, but 6m is a short enough run that the effect is negligible for line-level audio signals. For very low-level signals such as unbalanced microphones, shorter cable runs are preferable.
