Description

The Knightsbridge 4-way track X-connector joins four single-circuit track sections into a cross configuration, allowing track lighting runs to branch in four directions from a central point. Built from polycarbonate and copper with a satin nickel finish, the connector measures 181mm square with an 18mm projection from the ceiling plane and carries mains voltage across all four arms.

Designed for retail, office and residential installations where track lighting needs to cover a large floor area or branch around architectural features, the X-connector can function as a junction point between track runs or as a central power feed. When used as a feed, the live supply enters through the centre of the connector and distributes to all four arms, removing the need to feed from one end of the track. This configuration suits open-plan spaces where a central ceiling rose already exists.

The satin nickel finish matches Knightsbridge's TRK series track and fixtures, giving a consistent metallic tone across the installation. The polycarbonate body houses copper conductors rated for 230V 50Hz mains, with the IP20 rating confirming suitability for dry indoor environments only. Each arm of the connector clips onto the corresponding track section using the same mechanical joint as straight track joiners, requiring no additional tools beyond those used for standard track assembly.

Frequently Asked

Is this compatible with other track systems?

The X-connector is designed for Knightsbridge's TRK series single-circuit track. Compatibility with other brands depends on the mechanical and electrical profile of their track — contact us with your existing track model if you need compatibility confirmation.

Can it be used as a power feed?

Yes. The connector can serve as a central power feed point, with the mains supply entering through the centre and distributing to all four track arms. This suits installations where the ceiling rose is centrally positioned rather than at one end of the track run.

What's the maximum load capacity?

The connector itself is rated for 230V 50Hz mains. Maximum load depends on the total circuit rating and the number of fixtures attached across all four arms — consult the circuit breaker rating and total wattage of all connected fixtures.

Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling?

The 18mm projection assumes a flat ceiling plane. On sloped ceilings the connector may need to be mounted to a ceiling plate or adapter that provides a level surface for the four track arms to join correctly.
