Description
The Knightsbridge 12V LED flex strip delivers 5 metres of red accent lighting via 60 surface-mounted 2835 SMD LEDs per metre, running at 4.8W per metre on 12V DC constant voltage. The 8mm-wide strip carries a self-adhesive 3M backing along its full length, allowing it to be pressed onto clean, dry surfaces without additional fixings. The strip can be cut at marked 50mm intervals to fit exact run lengths without wasting unused sections.
Designed for indoor accent and feature lighting rated IP20, the strip suits under-shelf lighting, cove lighting, display case illumination, bar fascias, and architectural detail highlighting where red colour is needed. The strip requires a separate 12V DC LED driver sized to the total wattage of the installed run—5m at 4.8W/m draws 24W, so a 30W driver provides headroom. The red output works for retail display, hospitality mood lighting, and residential accent zones where colour draws attention to specific surfaces or objects.
The Class III rating means the strip operates at extra-low voltage (12V DC), removing the shock hazard present in mains-voltage LED tape. When paired with a dimmable LED driver and compatible dimmer module, the strip dims smoothly from full output to near-zero without flicker. The 2835 SMD chip spacing at 60 LEDs per metre gives even light distribution along the run without visible individual LED spotting when the strip is concealed behind a lip or diffuser channel. The 0.15m lead cable at one end terminates in bare wire or connector (depending on batch) ready to be joined to the driver output.

Frequently Asked
What LED driver is needed?
The 5m strip draws 24W total at 4.8W per metre. Use a 12V DC constant voltage LED driver rated at 30W or higher to provide headroom. If you cut the strip shorter, calculate the wattage needed (length in metres × 4.8W) and size the driver accordingly.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The strip has cut marks every 50mm along its length. Cut only at these marked intervals using sharp scissors or a craft knife to avoid damaging the circuitry. Cutting between marks breaks the circuit and the cut section will not light.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, when paired with a dimmable 12V DC LED driver and a compatible dimmer module or controller. The strip itself has no dimming circuitry—dimming is controlled by the driver or an inline PWM dimmer on the 12V circuit.
Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the strip is not protected against moisture ingress and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. For bathrooms or outdoor use, you need an IP65 or IP67 rated version with silicone coating or sleeve protection.
