Description

The Mercury heavy duty figure 8 speaker cable is a 100m reel of 2-core parallel cable with 2 x 42 stranded conductors (22 copper + 20 copper-clad aluminium per core), delivering a combined 1.32mm² cross-sectional area. The black PVC sheath carries a white polarity line down one core to simplify positive/negative identification during installation.

Built for medium to high-power PA systems, distributed audio in commercial venues, and permanent AV installations where cable runs exceed 10-20m, the Mercury cable handles up to 13A continuous current. The figure 8 profile (4.5 x 9.0mm) allows the two cores to be easily separated at termination points for connection to binding posts, screw terminals or Speakon connectors, while the parallel construction keeps the cable flat and flexible for routing under carpets, along skirting or through cable trays.

The mixed copper/CCA conductor construction balances conductivity and cost — the 22 pure copper strands per core provide low resistance for signal integrity, while the 20 CCA strands maintain mechanical strength and keep the cable lighter than solid copper equivalents.
