Description

The LYYT Short Crown is a compact 18x9mm aluminium extrusion designed for surface mounting LED tape in tight or minimal spaces. The frosted crowned diffuser sits flush to the aluminium channel, creating a low-profile 1m run that accepts LED tape up to 12mm wide and 6mm tall. The diffuser snaps into the channel without tools, providing access for tape installation or replacement while maintaining a clean appearance when fitted.

Designed for under-cabinet lighting, display shelving, furniture detailing, and architectural accent runs where a discrete profile is needed, the extrusion provides both mechanical protection for the LED tape and a continuous heat sink along the 1m length. The aluminium construction draws heat away from the tape, reducing thermal degradation and extending LED lifespan. The frosted diffuser softens the light output and eliminates visible LED hotspots, turning the tape into a continuous line of diffused illumination.

The 18mm width and 9mm height give the profile a minimal footprint on walls, ceilings, or furniture edges. The visible diffuser width is 14mm once fitted, providing a clean 1m line of light without the profile itself drawing attention. The surface-mount design fixes directly to the substrate using the supplied end caps and mounting clips, with no need for recessing or routing channels into the surface.

The internal channel is 12mm wide, so standard 10mm and 12mm wide LED tape fits comfortably. Narrower tape (8mm, 5mm) also fits but may need centering during installation for a symmetrical appearance through the diffuser.

Is the diffuser removable for access to the tape?

Yes. The frosted diffuser snaps into the aluminium channel and can be removed without tools by flexing the sides slightly. This allows LED tape to be installed, replaced, or repositioned after the profile is mounted.

What's included with the 1m length?

Each 1m profile includes the aluminium extrusion, frosted diffuser, two end caps, and mounting clips. LED tape is sold separately.

Can multiple profiles be joined end-to-end?
