Description
The LYYT 180 LED Heavy Duty String Lights are a 20m multicolour lighting run with 180 concave RGBA LEDs spaced at 100mm intervals along 18m of lit cable, plus a 1.5m mains lead and 0.5m controller link. The UV-resistant black rubber cable carries an IP44 weatherproof rating, allowing outdoor installation in rain, frost and year-round weather exposure. An inline controller offers eight selectable modes including waves, chasing, twinkle and steady-on, operated by a single button on the control box.
Designed for large-scale festive and event decoration across gardens, shopfronts, marquees, trees and building facades, the string lights can be daisy-chained up to five sets end-to-end from a single mains plug, providing up to 100m of continuous lighting. The concave LED design spreads light output in a wider diffusion pattern than standard flat-top LEDs, reducing visible gaps between bulbs when viewed from a distance. The multicolour RGBA setting cycles through red, green, blue and amber tones, with individual modes allowing static single-colour display or dynamic colour-changing sequences.
The heavy-duty rubber cable withstands UV degradation, flexing in cold weather and physical handling during annual installation cycles without cracking or hardening. At 7W maximum consumption for the full 180-LED run, the set draws less power than a single traditional 40W incandescent festoon bulb. The 2.3kg weight of the complete set includes the controller, cable and LEDs, giving the string enough mass to hang under its own weight on horizontal runs without excessive sagging when supported at 2-3m intervals.

Frequently Asked
Can multiple sets be connected together?
Yes. Up to five sets can be daisy-chained end-to-end from a single mains plug, providing up to 100m of continuous lighting across 900 LEDs. Each set includes a female connector at the output end to accept the male plug of the next set in the chain.
What does IP44 weatherproofing mean?
IP44 means the lights are protected against splashing water from any direction and solid objects larger than 1mm. This makes them suitable for outdoor installation in rain, but they should not be submerged or installed where they will sit in standing water.
How are the eight modes selected?
The inline controller has a single button. Pressing the button cycles through the eight modes in sequence: steady-on, waves, sequential chasing, twinkle, slow glow, flash, slow fade, and combination mode. The controller remembers the last-selected mode when power is switched off and on again.
What is the spacing between LEDs?
LEDs are spaced at 100mm (10cm) intervals along the 18m lit section of cable. This gives 180 LEDs across the run, with approximately 10 LEDs per metre of lit length.
