Description
The LYYT 100 LED Outdoor Icicle String Light delivers 2m of lit length with varying drop lengths of 240mm, 320mm, 490mm and 560mm to create a natural icicle effect along rooflines, fascias, balconies and pergolas. Each of the 100 warm white LEDs sits on a black UV-resistant rubber cable rated IP44 for outdoor use, handling rain, snow and freezing temperatures without degradation.
Designed for Christmas, festive and year-round ambient outdoor lighting, the string light connects to mains 230V via a 1.5m lead cable, giving flexibility in positioning the plug relative to the lit section. Up to 50 sets can be daisy-chained from a single plug, making the LYYT suitable for large-scale installations on commercial buildings, extended residential rooflines, or event venues where running multiple cables back to separate outlets is impractical.
The 5mm concave-head LEDs distribute warm white light evenly at all viewing angles rather than creating a single bright point when viewed head-on, so the icicle effect reads clearly from the street or from inside the property. The static-only version maintains consistent light without flashing or sequencing. Maximum power consumption across the entire 100-LED set is 3.2W, giving long-term running costs of approximately £0.10 per 24 hours at current UK energy rates.
The black cable blends into dark fascias, guttering and timber beams when installed, reducing visual clutter during daylight hours. LED spacing of 70mm places one icicle drop approximately every two bricks on standard UK brickwork, creating dense coverage without gaps.

Frequently Asked
How many sets can be connected together?
Up to 50 sets can be daisy-chained from a single mains plug. At 3.2W per set, 50 connected sets draw 160W total, well within the capacity of a standard UK 13A socket.
Are these suitable for outdoor use year-round?
The IP44 rating protects against rain and snow. The UV-resistant cable prevents degradation from sunlight. However, LEDs left permanently outdoors may accumulate dirt and lose brightness over time — most users install these seasonally and store them indoors between uses.
What colour temperature are the LEDs?
The warm white LEDs emit approximately 3000K, giving a soft yellow-white glow similar to incandescent Christmas lights rather than the cooler blue-white of daylight LEDs.
Can the icicle drops be adjusted in length?
No. The drop lengths of 240mm, 320mm, 490mm and 560mm are fixed at manufacture and alternate along the 2m string to create the natural icicle pattern. Individual LEDs cannot be repositioned on the cable.
