Description

The Knightsbridge 9-gang grid faceplate is a brushed chrome screwless cover plate measuring 208mm by 148mm, designed to accept nine euro module inserts for configurable AV, data and telecom connectivity. The faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that mounts to the back box, leaving no visible screw fixings on the wall once installed.

Designed for media walls, home cinema installations, smart home control panels and office workstations, the 9-gang layout allows any combination of HDMI, USB, CAT6 data, TV coax, audio jack and telephone modules to be configured in a single faceplate. The euro module apertures are arranged in a 3x3 grid, providing symmetrical spacing and visual balance when populated with inserts. The plate requires a 47mm minimum back box depth to accommodate modules and cable terminations behind the faceplate.

The brushed chrome finish is produced on premium-grade steel, giving the plate strength and a directional grain texture that hides fingerprints and minor surface marks better than polished finishes. A built-in gasket sits around the perimeter of the faceplate, compressing against the wall surface to give a tight, flush fit that prevents light bleed and dust ingress behind the plate. The IP20 rating confirms the plate is suitable for dry indoor locations including living rooms, bedrooms and offices.

What modules does this faceplate accept?

The plate accepts standard euro modules (also called grid modules or modular inserts) from Knightsbridge and compatible ranges. Common modules include HDMI, USB, CAT6 data, TV coax, speaker terminals, 3.5mm audio jacks and telephone sockets. Modules are sold separately and clip into the apertures from behind the faceplate.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed to accommodate euro modules and cable terminations behind the faceplate. Deeper boxes (55mm or 60mm) provide more cable management space for installations with multiple high-count data or AV cables.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without disturbing the module configuration or wiring.

Can I mix different module types in one plate?

Yes. The 9-gang layout allows any combination of compatible euro modules to be installed in a single faceplate, so you can combine HDMI, USB, data and TV sockets in whatever configuration suits the installation.
