Description
The Knightsbridge JB007BK is an IP66-rated outdoor junction box moulded from impact-resistant black polycarbonate, measuring 86mm high, 74mm wide and 62mm deep. The enclosure carries IP66 ingress protection against dust and high-pressure water jets, plus an IK06 impact rating, making it suitable for external wiring installations exposed to weather and accidental knocks.
Designed for outdoor switch positions, sensor connections, PIR detector wiring, garden lighting circuits and CCTV power supplies, the box features multiple cable gland entry points pre-formed into the base and sides. These knockout points accept standard 20mm conduit glands or rubber grommets, allowing cables to enter from any direction while maintaining the IP66 seal. The enclosure is rated for voltages up to 230V AC 50Hz and carries Class II insulation.
The polycarbonate construction resists UV degradation, temperature cycling and physical impact better than standard ABS housings. The black finish minimises visibility against dark-painted walls, timber fencing and brickwork. Four external mounting lugs with screw holes allow the box to be fixed directly to masonry, timber or metal surfaces using appropriate fixings. The hinged lid seals against a rubber gasket and secures with four captive screws.

Frequently Asked
What does IP66 mean?
IP66 is an Ingress Protection rating confirming the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against high-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor installation in exposed positions subject to heavy rain, hose-down cleaning or coastal spray.
What cable entry options are available?
The enclosure has multiple pre-formed knockout points in the base and sides that accept standard 20mm conduit glands or rubber grommets. These allow cables to enter from different directions while maintaining the weatherproof seal once the gland is fitted.
Can this be used for mains voltage wiring?
Yes. The enclosure is rated for voltages up to 230V AC 50Hz and carries Class II insulation. It is commonly used for outdoor switch connections, garden lighting circuits, PIR detector wiring and CCTV power supplies.
How is it mounted?
Four external mounting lugs with screw holes allow the box to be fixed to masonry, timber or metal surfaces. Use appropriate fixings for the substrate — masonry plugs and screws for brick or block, stainless steel screws for timber, and self-tapping screws for metal.
