Description
The Knightsbridge SN2135B is a 13A rough use plug top with a polypropylene body, nylon quick-fix cord grip and a replaceable 13A fuse fitted to BS 1362. The quick-fix cord grip uses a captive screw mechanism that clamps the cable sheath without needing to strip outer insulation back to separate lengths, speeding up termination in workshop and site environments.
Designed for workshops, garages, building sites and trade environments where plugs experience frequent handling, drops and cable strain, the polypropylene construction resists impact damage better than standard domestic plugs. The black finish hides scuffs and marks that accumulate in heavy-use settings. The plug accepts standard 3-core flex up to 1.5mm² and terminates cables in approximately 30 seconds once the outer sheath is stripped to the correct length.
The plug carries BS 1363-2 certification and BSI Kitemark approval, confirming compliance with UK electrical safety standards for fused plugs. The 13A fuse protects appliances and tools drawing up to 3,000W on 230V mains. The compact 49mm width and 42mm depth fit behind furniture and equipment where space behind the socket is limited, while the low 20mm projection from the pins reduces strain on wall sockets when the plug is inserted.

Frequently Asked
What does 'quick-fix' mean on the cord grip?
The quick-fix cord grip uses a captive screw that clamps the cable sheath without requiring the outer insulation to be stripped back to separate individual core lengths. This speeds up termination compared to traditional cord grips where live, neutral and earth cores must be stripped to different lengths before the grip screw is tightened.
What cable size does it accept?
The plug accepts standard 3-core flexible cable (flex) up to 1.5mm² cross-sectional area. This covers most portable appliance and power tool cables used in domestic and light trade applications.
Is the fuse replaceable?
Yes. The plug is fitted with a standard BS 1362 13A cartridge fuse, which can be accessed by opening the fuse carrier on the pin face. Replacement fuses are widely available and should match the rating required by the connected appliance (3A, 5A, 10A or 13A).
What makes it 'rough use' compared to a standard plug?
The polypropylene body is thicker and more impact-resistant than standard domestic plug housings, and the nylon cord grip provides a more secure cable clamp. This construction withstands repeated drops, knocks and cable strain common in workshop and site environments.
