Description

The Ziggy is a 254mm diameter pendant or semi-flush ceiling light with a lacquered silver steel outer shade cut in a geometric diamond lattice pattern and a white opal glass inner diffuser. The fitting takes a single E14 bulb up to 40W (sold separately) and ships with four rods allowing the drop to be set between 235mm (semi-flush) and 1175mm (full pendant) on installation.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms, the Ziggy suits both lower ceilings where the semi-flush configuration keeps the fitting close to the ceiling plane and taller rooms where a pendant drop positions the light source over a worktop or dining table. The four rods are cut to different lengths and can be mixed or matched during installation to create intermediate drop heights between the 235mm minimum and 1175mm maximum. The lacquered silver canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The outer shade's diamond lattice allows light to escape through the gaps as well as through the opal glass base, creating patterns on the ceiling and walls when lit. The lacquered finish on the steel gives a warmer, slightly brushed appearance compared to polished chrome or bright nickel, sitting between traditional brass tones and cooler contemporary metallics. The white opal glass softens the bare bulb and reduces glare, making the fitting suitable for eye-level positions in dining and kitchen settings.

Yes. The Ziggy ships with four rods of different lengths. Installing with the shortest rod gives a 235mm drop (measured from ceiling to base of shade), which functions as a semi-flush fitting suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes one E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient or task lighting over dining tables and kitchen islands.

How is the drop height adjusted?

Four rods of different lengths are included. During installation, select the rod (or combination of rods) that gives the drop height needed for your ceiling height and intended use. The rods thread together, allowing intermediate heights between the 235mm minimum and 1175mm maximum.

Does the geometric outer shade cast patterns when lit?

Yes. The diamond lattice outer shade allows light to pass through the gaps as well as through the opal glass base, projecting geometric shadows and light patterns onto the ceiling and nearby walls when the bulb is on.
