Description

The Zeal is a 162mm recessed outdoor downlight with an integrated 28W 4000K LED housed behind a white die-cast aluminium bezel. The fitting sits flush with the ceiling surface once installed, leaving only the white trim ring and the recessed reflector visible. The IP54 rating on the front face protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for covered outdoor spaces such as patios, terraces, canopies and carports.

Designed for installation into plasterboard ceilings with sufficient void depth above, the Zeal requires a 142mm cut-out and at least 100mm clearance above the ceiling plane to accommodate the housing and driver assembly. The fixed orientation means the beam cannot be tilted or rotated after installation, so positioning during the cut-out stage determines where light falls. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light that sits between warm residential tones and cooler commercial daylight, making it functional for both domestic outdoor spaces and commercial entrances or covered walkways.

The die-cast aluminium construction handles temperature variation and moisture exposure better than plastic housings, and the white powder-coat finish on the bezel resists UV degradation and weathering. The integrated 28W LED delivers approximately 2,800 lumens, providing enough output to light a 10-12 square metre patio or terrace area with a single fitting, or to space fittings at 2.5-3m centres along a covered walkway. The non-dimmable driver simplifies wiring but means output cannot be adjusted after installation.

No. The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes but not sustained rain or direct water jets. The fitting is designed for covered outdoor spaces such as patios under eaves, pergolas with roofing, canopies or carports where the ceiling surface is protected from direct rainfall.

What ceiling void depth is required?
