Description

The Zeal is a 162mm diameter recessed downlight with a 28W integrated 4000K LED and an IP54-rated front, housed in a die-cast aluminium black bezel. Designed for installation in plasterboard ceilings, the fitting sits flush with the ceiling surface and directs a fixed beam of neutral white light downwards for outdoor and covered semi-outdoor applications.

Built for patios, covered terraces, veranda ceilings and external porch areas where IP54 protection against dust and water spray is sufficient, the Zeal provides functional downlighting without surface-mounted fittings. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white output that works well for task lighting over outdoor seating, walkways and entrance areas. The fitting requires a ceiling void depth to accommodate the LED driver and heat sink assembly above the visible bezel.

The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion in outdoor environments better than pressed steel housings, and the black powder-coated bezel finish blends into dark soffits or creates a defined edge against lighter ceilings. The integrated LED cannot be replaced independently, so the entire fitting is replaced at end-of-life, typically after several years of continuous use depending on operating hours. The IP54 rating provides protection from solid particles above 1mm and water spray from any direction, but does not offer submersion protection — this fitting is not suitable for fully exposed rain positions or ground burial.
