Description

The Zeal is a 162mm diameter outdoor LED recessed downlight with a fixed 28W integrated LED module rated at 3000K warm white, set behind a white die-cast aluminium bezel. The IP54 rating protects the internal components against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor locations such as patios, terraces, porches and soffits.

Designed for installation into plasterboard ceilings with a cut-out hole matching the 162mm diameter, the Zeal sits flush with the ceiling plane once fitted, leaving only the white bezel and the recessed lamp aperture visible. The fixed orientation means the light projects straight down rather than being adjustable, so positioning during installation determines the lit area. The 28W output suits applications where ambient light over a 2-3m diameter footprint is needed, such as above outdoor dining tables or seating areas under covered structures.

The die-cast aluminium construction provides structural rigidity and heat dissipation for the LED module, while the white powder-coated finish on the bezel resists corrosion in outdoor environments. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white tone that complements both natural timber and painted finishes commonly found in outdoor spaces. The non-dimmable driver runs on 230V mains and is housed within the fitting body above the ceiling line.

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes, but not against heavy rain or direct water jets. The Zeal is suitable for covered outdoor areas such as soffits, porch ceilings and covered patios, but should not be installed in locations where it would be exposed to sustained rainfall or direct hose-down.

What ceiling depth is required for installation?

The fitting requires a ceiling void to house the LED driver and the fitting body above the plasterboard. A minimum 100mm depth above the ceiling plane is typically needed, though the exact requirement depends on the driver unit dimensions. Check the installation instructions or contact us to confirm before cutting into the ceiling.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED module is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The 5-year warranty covers the LED module, and the typical rated life of the LED is 25,000-30,000 hours, equivalent to 8-10 years of use at 8 hours per day.

Can this be dimmed?

No. The driver is non-dimmable and will not function correctly with dimmer switches. Attempting to use a dimmer may cause flickering or damage to the driver.
