Description

The Zeal is a 110mm recessed LED downlight in white die-cast aluminium with an IP54-rated front, built for outdoor installation in covered ceiling positions such as porch soffits, terrace overhangs and entrance canopies. The integrated 15W LED delivers 4000K cool white light through a fixed downward beam, and the white bezel sits flush with plasterboard or timber-lined ceilings once installed.

Designed for plasterboard ceiling installation, the Zeal requires a cut-out of approximately 90-95mm diameter and sits recessed so only the white front bezel and lens remain visible. The IP54 rating on the front face provides protection from dust ingress and water spray, making the fitting suitable for covered outdoor positions that see occasional rain or wind-driven moisture but not direct water jets. The 4000K colour temperature provides functional task light rather than warm ambient, working well for security lighting, path visibility and entrance illumination.

The die-cast aluminium housing dissipates heat from the 15W LED module, which runs cooler than halogen equivalents and does not require bulb replacement over the typical lifespan. The white finish blends into white or off-white ceilings, leaving the light output as the primary visible element rather than the fitting itself. The fixed beam angle means the light points straight down from the ceiling—there is no tilt or rotation once installed.

Can the Zeal be used in fully exposed outdoor positions?

No. The IP54 rating protects the front face from dust and water spray, but the fitting is designed for covered outdoor positions such as porch ceilings, terrace soffits and entrance canopies where it receives shelter from direct rain and is not subject to water jets. Fully exposed positions require IP65 or IP67 fittings.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 15W LED is integrated into the module and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated to last the typical lifespan of the fitting and is covered by the 5-year warranty.

What ceiling depth is needed for installation?

Die-cast downlights of this type typically require 80-100mm clearance above the ceiling surface to accommodate the driver and heat dissipation. Check the ceiling void depth before ordering to confirm there is sufficient space for the housing and connections.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. The light output is fixed at full 15W brightness when switched on.
