Description

The Windermere is a single-light wall fitting built from hand-forged wrought iron finished in a rust and gold patina. The frame extends 185mm from the wall, with two curved arms rising from a circular backplate and terminating in a decorative scroll detail above a candle-shaped E14 bulb holder. The hand-applied finish gives each fitting a slightly different tonal variation where the gold breaks through the darker rust base, mimicking natural oxidation on aged ironwork.

Designed for hallways, landings, living rooms and bedrooms where accent lighting is needed without the brightness of a ceiling-mounted fitting, the Windermere sits 365mm tall from the mounting point to the top of the scroll. The 60W maximum rating handles both LED candle bulbs for everyday use and filament decorative bulbs where the exposed lamp becomes part of the aesthetic. The fitting accepts any standard E14 bulb (sold separately), allowing choice of light temperature from warm amber filament to cool daylight LED depending on room requirements.

Each Windermere fitting is made in the UK by Elstead Lighting using traditional blacksmithing techniques — the iron is heated, shaped and welded by hand rather than cast in moulds, which gives the frame a more organic line than mass-produced alternatives. The rust/gold patina is applied by hand after fabrication and sealed to prevent further oxidation.
