Description

The Wilmslow is a 1145mm Victorian-style outdoor wall light cast in black aluminium with clear glass panels surrounding a single E27 bulb. The lantern head sits on a decorative scrollwork bracket that projects 675mm from the wall, replicating the proportions of late 19th-century gas street lighting while accommodating modern electric fittings.

Designed for mounting on exterior walls beside front doors, garage entrances, courtyard gates and garden pathways, the Wilmslow provides ambient downward light through its open-bottom lantern design. The IP23 rating protects against vertically falling water and objects larger than 12.5mm, making it suitable for positions under eaves, porch overhangs and recessed doorways where the fitting has some shelter from direct horizontal rain. The 60W maximum load accepts LED, halogen or filament E27 bulbs up to that rating (bulb sold separately).

The cast aluminium construction is lighter than cast iron but maintains the weight and surface detail typical of period exterior fittings. The black powder-coated finish resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments better than painted mild steel. Each corner of the lantern frame features a small decorative finial, and the crowned top piece adds an additional 200mm of vertical presence above the main lantern body.
