Description

The Voltis is a constant current LED driver delivering 9W at 250mA output, housed in a white plastic casing measuring 120mm long by 51mm wide. The constant current regulation maintains stable 250mA output regardless of input voltage fluctuations, extending LED lifespan by preventing current spikes that degrade LED junctions over time.

Designed for residential, office and retail installations where LED downlights, panels or strip lighting require controlled power, the driver fits inside ceiling voids, behind panels or within luminaire housings. The 120mm x 51mm footprint suits standard ceiling cavity depths and the IP20 rating means it must be installed in dry indoor locations away from direct water contact. The driver is compatible with trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers, allowing brightness adjustment from wall-mounted dimmer switches.

The white plastic casing uses a two-piece clip-together construction with screw terminals for incoming mains and outgoing LED connections. Input accepts 220-240V AC mains and the output delivers 36V DC at 250mA constant current, suitable for LED modules rated between 7-9W. The driver includes thermal protection that reduces output if the internal temperature exceeds safe operating limits, then restores full output once cooled.

Frequently Asked

What dimmer types is the Voltis compatible with?

The driver works with both trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers designed for LED loads. Compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — older resistive dimmers may cause flickering. For best results pair with a dimmer rated for LED driver loads.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoor installations?

No. The IP20 rating means the driver must be installed in dry indoor locations only, away from direct water contact or high-humidity zones. For bathroom zones 1-3 or outdoor use, a driver with IP44 or IP65 rating is required.

What voltage does the output deliver?

The output delivers approximately 36V DC at a constant 250mA current. The exact output voltage varies slightly depending on the LED load connected — the driver maintains constant current rather than constant voltage.

How is the driver wired?

The driver has screw terminals for incoming 220-240V AC mains (live, neutral, earth) and outgoing DC connections to the LED module. Wiring must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
