Description

The Unity single-phase track power feed is a white plastic connector that links a track lighting rail to a ceiling-mounted mains power supply. Measuring 11.2cm long by 3.8cm wide by 2.2cm high, the unit houses the live, neutral and earth connections inside a closed housing that clicks into the end of a compatible single-phase track rail. Once installed, it provides 220-240V AC power to all track heads mounted along the rail.

Designed for use at the start of a track lighting run, the power feed mounts directly to a ceiling rose or junction box using the fixing holes in the base plate. The track rail then slots into the channel on the front face of the unit, creating a continuous electrical circuit from the ceiling supply through to each individual spotlight or pendant head attached to the track. The white finish matches white track rail systems and blends into white or light-coloured ceilings.

The plastic construction keeps the unit lightweight and non-conductive on external surfaces, reducing the risk of accidental contact with live parts during installation. The compact 11.2cm footprint suits most ceiling configurations, including those where space between joists or proximity to walls limits the available mounting area. The unit is rated for continuous operation on standard UK 220-240V AC circuits and carries a 2-year manufacturer warranty.

The Unity power feed is designed for Maytoni single-phase track systems. It is not compatible with three-phase track or track from other manufacturers unless they share the same rail profile and electrical specification. Check the track rail model before ordering to ensure compatibility.

Does it need to be wired by a qualified electrician?

Yes. The power feed connects directly to mains 220-240V AC and must be installed by a Part P qualified electrician or competent person in accordance with UK wiring regulations. Incorrect installation can cause fire or electric shock.

Can multiple power feeds be used on the same track?

Only one power feed should be connected per continuous track run. If extending the track beyond the rated load capacity, split the run into separate circuits, each with its own power feed and dedicated circuit protection.

What is the maximum load capacity?

The power feed itself does not limit load — capacity is determined by the circuit breaker rating, cable size, and track rail specification. Refer to the Maytoni track rail datasheet for the maximum combined wattage of all track heads on a single run.
