Description

The Unity recessed track power feed is a flush-mount electrical connector that feeds mains power into Maytoni's Unity recessed track lighting system. The component measures 117mm long by 60mm wide and sits 20mm proud of the ceiling surface, housing the connection between the building's 220-240V AC supply and the recessed track channel. The black powder-coated aluminium casing matches the Unity track finish.

Designed for installation into standard UK ceiling voids where the Unity track runs concealed within the plasterboard, the power feed clips into the track profile and connects to a ceiling-mounted junction box or loop-in rose behind the plasterboard. Once installed, only the black faceplate remains visible at ceiling level. The component suits residential kitchens, commercial galleries, retail interiors and office spaces where the track system runs the length of a room or zone.

The aluminium construction provides a rigid housing that won't flex under the weight of track fixtures further along the run, and the black finish hides fingerprints and ceiling dust better than lighter colours. The 117mm length accommodates standard UK wiring practices with enough internal space for cable entry, terminal connections and strain relief. The power feed is one part of a complete Unity system — it must be paired with Unity recessed track, track end caps, and compatible track-mounted fixtures (all sold separately).

Frequently Asked

Does this power feed work with any recessed track system?

No. The Unity power feed is designed specifically for Maytoni's Unity recessed track profile. It will not fit other manufacturers' track systems due to different clip mechanisms and internal conductor positions. Check that you're purchasing Unity-branded track and fixtures to ensure compatibility.

Can it be installed by a homeowner?

The power feed connects directly to mains electricity at 220-240V AC. In the UK, any fixed wiring work that involves new circuits or connections to the consumer unit must be carried out by a qualified electrician and comply with Part P of the Building Regulations. The installer will need to access the ceiling void to route cable and secure the junction box.

How many track fixtures can one power feed support?

The maximum load depends on the circuit breaker rating feeding the track and the wattage of each individual fixture. A typical 6A lighting circuit can support approximately 1,380W total load. If you're running five 10W LED track spots, that's only 50W, leaving plenty of headroom. Always add up the wattage of all fixtures on the track before installation.

What other Unity components are needed for a complete system?

A functioning Unity recessed track installation requires Unity recessed track sections (sold by the metre), this power feed, track end caps to seal both ends of the track run, and Unity-compatible track-mounted fixtures. All components are sold separately and must be from the Unity range to ensure fit and electrical safety.
