Description

The Knightsbridge NCLB26 is a twin 6ft T8 LED-ready non-corrosive batten fitting with an IP65-rated polycarbonate body and prismatic diffuser. The fitting is pre-wired to accept two self-ballasted T8 LED tubes (sold separately) and contains no ballast or driver, meaning the LED tubes connect directly to the 230V mains supply via the internal wiring harness.

Designed for industrial, commercial and agricultural environments where dust ingress and water jets are present, the IP65 rating allows the fitting to be installed in warehouses, factories, car washes, food preparation areas, stables, sheds and outdoor covered spaces. The polycarbonate body resists impact and UV degradation better than ABS or steel, making it suitable for high-traffic areas and locations where corrosion from moisture or cleaning chemicals would degrade metal fittings.

The fitting measures 1828mm in length, 129mm in width and projects 90mm from the mounting surface when installed. The grey polycarbonate body and clear prismatic diffuser give a neutral industrial appearance that pairs with most commercial interiors. The prismatic diffuser spreads light evenly along the 1828mm length, reducing hotspots and dark zones compared to clear or opal diffusers. The fitting is supplied with all mounting hardware and internal cabling for rapid installation on ceilings or walls.

The twin-tube configuration doubles the light output compared to single-tube non-corrosive battens, making this fitting suitable for larger spaces, higher mounting heights (4-6m ceilings), or areas requiring higher lux levels for detailed work. With two 18W 6ft T8 LED tubes installed (a common pairing), the fitting typically delivers around 7,200 lumens, comparable to older twin 58W fluorescent installations but at 60% lower running cost.

The fitting requires two 6ft (1800mm) T8 LED tubes with self-contained ballast. These are sometimes labelled "LED-ready" or "direct-to-mains" T8 tubes. Standard fluorescent T8 tubes and older magnetic ballast T8 LEDs are not compatible. Tubes are sold separately at Niori.

Can this be installed outdoors?

The IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets, making the fitting suitable for covered outdoor locations such as canopies, carports, loading bays and eaves. It is not rated for full weather exposure without a protective roof or canopy overhead.

Is the fitting dimmable?

Dimming depends on the T8 LED tubes you install. Most self-ballasted T8 LED tubes are non-dimmable. If dimmable operation is required, check the tube specification before purchasing and pair with a compatible LED dimmer rated for the total wattage.
