Description

The Knightsbridge T8LB25 is a twin 5ft (1525mm) LED-ready batten fitting supplied without a ballast or driver, designed exclusively for use with self-ballasted T8 LED tubes. The pressed steel housing holds two T8 sockets pre-wired to 230V mains, eliminating the need for separate control gear when paired with dedicated LED tubes that carry their own internal drivers.

Designed for garages, workshops, storage areas, commercial back-of-house spaces and industrial settings where functional overhead task lighting is needed, the batten mounts directly to ceilings or suspended from chain/wire where headroom permits. The 1525mm length provides coverage over workbenches, packing tables, machine tool stations and shelving runs. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations without direct water exposure.

The white pressed steel housing measures 102mm wide by 86mm deep, giving a low-profile ceiling presence that suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The fitting is Class I and requires an earth connection during installation. LED tubes are sold separately — choose two T8 LED tubes with self-ballasted drivers and the required light output and colour temperature for your application. Dimming capability depends on the specific LED tubes selected.

This batten is designed exclusively for use with self-ballasted T8 LED tubes that carry their own internal drivers. Traditional fluorescent tubes require separate ballasts or drivers to regulate current, but modern LED tubes with integrated drivers connect directly to mains voltage, making external control gear unnecessary. This reduces fitting cost and eliminates ballast failure as a maintenance issue.

What tubes does it take?

The batten accepts two T8 LED tubes up to 1500mm (5ft) in length. Tubes must be self-ballasted (sometimes called 'mains voltage' or 'direct wire' LED tubes) rated for 230V operation. Tubes are sold separately — choose the wattage, colour temperature and light output that suits your application.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations without direct water exposure. For bathrooms, wet areas or outdoor use, a higher IP-rated fitting (IP44 or above) is required.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the specific T8 LED tubes you pair with the batten. Some self-ballasted LED tubes support dimming when used with compatible mains dimmers, while others are non-dimmable. Check the tube specification before purchasing if dimming is required.
