Description

The Tidal is an 82x178cm rectangular leaner mirror with a hand-finished black iron frame shaped in a continuous wave edge that curves inward at the sides and ripples outward at the top and bottom. The frame is backed with MDF reinforcement and a metal wall-hanging bracket, allowing the mirror to be propped against a wall as a leaner or secured to the wall in portrait orientation.

Designed for bedrooms, dressing areas and hallways needing full-length reflection, the 178cm height shows a 170cm+ standing figure from head to toe when the mirror is leant at a shallow angle against a wall. The 82cm width at the widest point of the wave provides a generous reflection plane without requiring the wall clearance of a traditional rectangular mirror the same height. The black iron frame contrasts with lighter wall colours and pairs cleanly with modern and industrial interiors.

Each frame is hand-finished, so the exact depth and rhythm of the wave edge varies between pieces. The combined iron, MDF backing and 4mm glass give the mirror a substantial 29kg weight, requiring two people to manoeuvre safely during positioning. The wave edge adds approximately 5-8cm of visual interest beyond what a flat rectangular frame would provide, creating a shadow line that changes throughout the day as natural light moves across the room.

Frequently Asked

Can the Tidal be hung on a wall or only leant?

The mirror comes with a metal wall-hanging bracket and can be secured to a wall in portrait orientation. It can also be propped against a wall as a leaner, which is the more common use given the rippled frame shape works well at a slight lean angle.

What wall fixings are needed if hanging it?

At 29kg the mirror requires heavy-duty wall fixings rated for at least 35kg. Use appropriate fixings for your wall type — masonry anchors for brick/block, multiple cavity fixings across studs for plasterboard. The bracket is designed for two-point suspension.

Does the wave edge vary between mirrors?

Yes. Each frame is hand-finished black iron, so the exact depth and rhythm of the wave edge differs between individual pieces. This is a feature of the hand-finishing process, not a defect.

How is the frame cleaned?

Wipe the black iron frame with a dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or marks on the glass, use a standard glass cleaner applied to the cloth rather than sprayed directly onto the mirror to avoid drips running behind the frame edge.
