Description

The Terra-2 is a 130mm smoked glass pendant light with a bulbous blown-glass shade suspended from a black fabric cable and chrome metal canopy. The glass itself is hand-blown into a rounded teardrop form with a narrow neck, creating a subtle onion-dome silhouette. The smoked finish adds a grey-brown tint to the glass while maintaining transparency, so the G9 bulb inside remains visible when lit.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bedside pendants where a compact fitting is needed, the Terra-2 works individually over small tables or in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart over longer surfaces. The 2000mm fabric cable can be shortened on installation to set the pendant at the required drop height, typically 700-900mm above a worktop or 650-750mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations.

The smoked glass diffuses direct glare from the G9 bulb while allowing enough light transmission to act as task lighting rather than pure ambient. The black fabric cable adds texture against the hard surface of the glass and chrome, and the chrome canopy sits flush to the ceiling rose. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible G9 dimmable bulb and appropriate dimmer switch, allowing output to be adjusted between full brightness for task work and lower levels for background lighting during meals.

Ideal Lux manufactures the Terra-2 in Italy. The glass shade is individually blown, so minor variation in the exact tint, bubble placement and wall thickness is normal between pieces. The fitting itself is rated as dimmable, but dimmer performance depends on the G9 bulb you install. Use a G9 LED bulb marked as dimmable and pair it with a trailing-edge or compatible leading-edge dimmer switch for smooth dimming without flicker.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

Yes. The 2000mm fabric cable can be shortened during installation by looping the excess inside the ceiling canopy. This allows the pendant to hang at the required height for your table or worktop without leaving slack cable visible.
