Description
The Starry is a 49cm outdoor LED bollard built from grey porous resin with a matt black painted metal base and top cap. An integrated 9W LED sits behind the resin body, casting 3000K warm white light downward through the material to create ambient ground-level illumination along pathways, around patios, or beside garden borders.
Designed for residential driveways, commercial pathways, and hospitality outdoor spaces, the bollard provides low-level wayfinding light without glare. The IP55 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK weather. The 180mm square footprint allows the bollard to be positioned close to planting or at pathway edges without occupying excessive ground space.
The porous resin body has a textured surface that resembles natural stone or concrete, softening the industrial quality of the matt black metal fittings. The resin is moulded rather than cast, giving it consistent wall thickness and lighter weight than solid concrete bollards of similar size. The integrated LED runs on mains voltage with no bulb replacement needed, and the 3000K colour temperature matches most domestic outdoor lighting schemes.
The 49cm height positions the light source just below knee level, making it appropriate for areas where taller bollards would obstruct sightlines or dominate smaller garden layouts. From Ideal Lux, an Italian manufacturer with a five-year warranty covering the LED and housing.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP55 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP55 provides dust protection and water resistance against jets from any direction. The Starry can withstand UK rain, garden hose spray and damp conditions year-round, but should not be submerged or installed in areas subject to standing water.
How is the bollard installed?
The black metal base includes pre-drilled holes for securing to a concrete pad or paving slab with anchor bolts. A qualified electrician connects the mains cable (typically SWA armoured cable buried underground) to the terminal block inside the base before fixing the bollard in place.
Can the LED be replaced?
The LED module is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The five-year warranty covers LED failure, and the expected lifespan of the LED typically exceeds 25,000 hours of continuous operation.
What colour is the light output?
The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light similar to a traditional halogen bulb, rather than the cooler blue-white of 4000K+ LEDs. This pairs well with residential outdoor lighting and warm-toned exterior finishes.
