Description

The South Hope is a 300mm outdoor wall lantern with a rectangular oil rubbed bronze frame and satin-etched opal glass diffuser housing a single E14 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately). The stepped bronze frame holds the opal glass cylinder in a cage-style structure, and a decorative loop handle sits above the top plate, giving the fitting a modern interpretation of traditional lantern proportions.

Designed for exterior wall mounting at doorways, porches, garage entrances and along pathways, the South Hope provides directional downlight through the base of the opal glass cylinder while the etched glass diffuses light radially across the front and sides. The 158mm projection from the wall gives enough clearance to throw light across a door surround or entrance step without protruding excessively from the building line. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splash, making the fitting suitable for exposed positions under overhangs, soffits and porch canopies across the UK.

The oil rubbed bronze finish shows darker patination in the recesses of the stepped frame detail and lighter bronze tones on the raised edges, giving depth to the metalwork under daylight and artificial light. The satin-etched opal glass cylinder is replaceable if damaged, and the E14 fitting accepts candle-style LED bulbs up to 60W, with most users pairing the lantern with a 4-7W warm-white LED for sufficient exterior illumination without light spill into neighbouring properties.
