Description
The Solstice is a 21W LED outdoor wall light with an integrated PIR motion sensor, adjustable opal polycarbonate diffuser and anthracite powder-coated aluminium body rated IP54 for exterior use. The integrated LED produces 3000K warm white light, triggered automatically when the PIR detects movement within its sensing range.
Designed for residential driveways, garden paths, side entrances and garage approaches, the Solstice combines security lighting with ambient illumination. The PIR sensor can be configured to activate the light on detection, while the optional twilight sensor prevents activation during daylight hours to conserve energy. The adjustable diffuser pivots on its mounting bracket, allowing the light to be directed downward onto paths, angled across doorways, or aimed forward to illuminate wider areas.
The anthracite finish is a dark charcoal grey that pairs with modern render, stone cladding, timber-effect composite panels and brick without dominating the facade. The powder-coated aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments, while the IP54 rating protects the LED and sensor electronics from dust ingress and water spray from any direction. At 212mm length and 100mm projection from the wall, the fitting sits close to the building line without protruding into narrow pathways.

Frequently Asked
What does the PIR motion sensor detect?
The passive infrared sensor detects movement by measuring changes in infrared radiation within its field of view, typically triggered by people or animals passing within 3-8 metres depending on ambient temperature and the sensor's sensitivity setting. The exact detection range and angle depend on the sensor specification — consult the installation manual for precise parameters.
Can the sensor be adjusted or disabled?
Most PIR wall lights allow adjustment of sensitivity, detection range and timer duration through controls behind the diffuser or on the sensor housing. The optional twilight sensor can be set to prevent activation during daylight. Refer to the Ideal Lux installation guide for this model's specific controls.
Is this suitable for coastal locations?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and water spray, and the powder-coated aluminium construction resists corrosion better than uncoated metals. However, in direct salt-spray environments (within 100m of breaking surf), periodic rinsing with fresh water will extend the finish life.
What mounting surface does it require?
The Solstice mounts to any solid wall surface — brick, block, render, timber or composite cladding — using the rear back plate. The 100mm projection from the wall means the fitting needs clearance behind doors or beside windows that open outward.
