Description

The Solana is a 100mm dual-function light that mounts flush to a ceiling or vertically on a wall, built around a matt black metal frame housing a blown smoked Pyrex glass diffuser. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the glass globe, which softens and diffuses the light while the smoked glass adds depth and reduces glare. The compact projection of 100mm from the wall or ceiling makes the Solana suitable for spaces with limited clearance.

Designed for hallways, landings, bathrooms (outside shower zones under IP20), bedrooms and living spaces where wall or ceiling mounting provides flexibility, the fixture works as either ambient lighting in smaller rooms or accent lighting to frame doorways, alcoves and feature walls. The G9 socket accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to the rated wattage (see Specification), and the fixture is dimmable when paired with compatible bulbs and a suitable dimmer switch.

The matt black finish on the metal frame pairs with industrial, contemporary and minimalist interiors, and the smoked Pyrex glass globe provides visual weight without occupying significant physical space. The fixture weighs enough to feel substantial when mounted but remains light enough to fit on plasterboard walls with appropriate fixings. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations, away from direct water contact.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Solana can be used in bathrooms outside of designated shower and bath zones (zones 1, 2 and 3). It is suitable for general bathroom ceiling or wall mounting away from direct water contact, such as above a mirror on a dry wall or on the ceiling outside the immediate shower enclosure area.

What bulb does it take?

The Solana uses a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W LED G9 bulb in 2700K-3000K warm white for general ambient light. Check the Specification table for the maximum wattage rating.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the fixture itself is dimmable. You will need a dimmable G9 LED bulb and a compatible LED dimmer switch for smooth dimming performance. Non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

Can it be mounted on a sloped ceiling?

The Solana is designed for flat ceiling or vertical wall mounting. Sloped ceiling mounting is not recommended as the fixture's internal wiring and bulb orientation are optimised for horizontal or vertical planes only.
