Description

The Solana is a dual-mount light fitting that can be installed as a wall light or a flush ceiling light, built around a circular satin brass frame with an acid-etched white glass diffuser. The glass is hand-blown and etched to scatter light evenly while hiding the bulb from direct view, creating a soft glow rather than a focused beam.

Designed for hallways, landings, bedrooms and bathrooms (IP20 rated for Zone 3 only), the compact 100mm diameter and 100mm projection make it suitable for narrower corridors and lower ceilings where a larger pendant would dominate. The dual-mount base plate allows the fitting to be oriented horizontally on a wall or vertically on a ceiling without changing the backplate, so the same fitting can be used in both positions within a property for visual consistency.

The satin brass finish is a warm mid-tone gold with a low-sheen surface that softens reflections and pairs comfortably with both brass tapware in bathrooms and brass handles on furniture. The metal frame and glass diffuser combined give the fitting a 0.4kg weight that mounts securely to standard UK junction boxes. The fitting takes a single G9 halogen or G9 LED bulb up to 40W (sold separately) and is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb.

Can this be used as both a wall light and a ceiling light?

Yes. The backplate is designed for dual mounting. It can be fitted horizontally on a wall or vertically on a ceiling without requiring a different mounting base or orientation adjustment.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 40W. G9 LED bulbs are recommended for lower running costs and heat output. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable G9 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. Not all G9 LEDs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before purchase.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating allows use in bathroom Zone 3 (more than 60cm from a water source and outside the zone above a bath or shower). It cannot be used in Zones 0, 1 or 2 where water contact is possible.
