Description

The Solana is a 10 light semi-flush ceiling light built around an oval matt black metal frame, 700mm wide and 530mm deep, with ten smoked Pyrex glass globes arranged around the perimeter. Each globe houses a G9 bulb (sold separately) and the blown glass diffuses the light into a warm ambient glow. The frame sits close to the ceiling with approximately 150mm projection, making the Solana suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and bedroom ceilings, the Solana works as primary ambient lighting in rooms up to 20-25 square metres, or as feature lighting in larger spaces paired with additional fittings. The oval frame configuration spreads light across a wider area than a circular fitting of the same bulb count, reducing hard shadows in the corners of rectangular rooms. The semi-flush mounting fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose, and the G9 fittings are compatible with dimmable LED capsules for adjustable brightness.

The smoked Pyrex glass globes are hand-blown, so tonal variation and slight size differences between individual globes are normal. The matt black finish on the frame is powder-coated steel that resists fingerprints and pairs cleanly with contemporary, industrial and mid-century interiors. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only. Each of the 10 G9 sockets accepts bulbs up to the maximum wattage specified in the Specification table, giving flexibility to choose the total light output that suits the room size.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Solana to dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require a minimum IP44 rating for zone 2 (outside the shower/bath area) and IP65 for zones 1 and 0 (inside the shower/bath enclosure).
