Description

The Solace is a 42mm diameter surface-mounted LED downlight with an integrated 4W 3000K warm white LED housed behind a satin acrylic diffuser. The body, base and ring are powder-coated aluminium finished in white, designed to sit flush against the ceiling surface without requiring a recessed cut-out.

Suited to kitchens, bathrooms (IP20 dry zones only), hallways, utility rooms and commercial interiors where ceiling depth or joist position prevents recessed installation, the Solace provides accent or task lighting without the need for structural ceiling work. The 42mm diameter makes it compact enough to fit into tight ceiling spaces or cluster in multiples for zone lighting over worktops, vanity units or reception desks. The fitting mounts directly to a standard ceiling rose or junction box on 230V mains.

The satin acrylic diffuser spreads the 4W LED output evenly across a downward cone, softening the beam edge and reducing direct glare when the fitting is positioned above eye level. The white powder-coated finish integrates cleanly with white or light-coloured ceilings and blends into minimalist, Scandi and contemporary interiors. The integrated LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED dimmer (dimmer sold separately), allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness to low ambient light.

The Solace carries a 5-year warranty on both the LED driver and the powder-coated finish, reflecting the commercial-grade build quality typical of Ideal Lux fittings. The aluminium body dissipates heat efficiently, extending the lifespan of the LED beyond the typical 25,000-hour expectation for consumer-grade downlights.
