Description

The Shimmer is a 90mm square recessed downlight with a brushed brass outer frame and a recessed black baffle around a central GU10 bulb fitting. The brass frame sits flush with the ceiling surface once installed, while the black baffle recesses the bulb deeper into the ceiling cavity to reduce glare and direct light downwards.

Designed for general ceiling lighting in kitchens, hallways, bedrooms and living rooms, the Shimmer works as a single accent spotlight or in multiples for more even coverage. The fixed-position fitting requires a minimum 47mm ceiling void depth for installation and accepts any standard GU10 LED or halogen bulb up to 50W (sold separately). The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas only.

The brushed brass finish on the square frame provides a warm metallic accent that contrasts with white or neutral ceilings and pairs well with brass door furniture, switches and other warm-metal fixtures. The black baffle hides the back of the ceiling cutout and frames the bulb aperture, giving a cleaner appearance than exposed white plaster. The 90mm x 90mm footprint fits between standard ceiling joist spacings in most UK residential properties.

No. The IP20 rating means the Shimmer is suitable for dry indoor areas only and is not protected against moisture ingress. For bathrooms you need an IP44 or IP65-rated recessed downlight depending on the zone.
