Description
The Shatter is a solar-powered outdoor wall light with a built-in PIR motion sensor, housed in a graphite aluminium frame with a frosted polycarbonate diffuser. The integrated 2W LED runs on a 3.7V rechargeable battery charged by the solar panel mounted on the top of the fitting, eliminating the need for mains wiring or external power sources.
Designed for porches, rear entrances, garages and pathway lighting where running mains cable is impractical, the Shatter mounts to brick, rendered or timber-clad walls via two rear fixing points. The PIR sensor detects movement within a typical range of 3-5m and activates the 150-lumen 3000K LED, which then remains lit for a preset duration before switching off to conserve battery charge. Three operating modes allow the light to be set to motion-activated only, dusk-to-dawn low-level with motion boost, or constant low-level output.
The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making the fitting suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as covered porches, under eaves, or in recessed doorways. The graphite powder-coated aluminium frame resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments, while the frosted plastic diffuser softens the LED output and reduces glare. The solar panel charges the internal battery during daylight hours, with full charge providing up to 14 hours of runtime depending on operating mode and seasonal daylight availability.

Frequently Asked
Does it need mains wiring?
No. The Shatter runs entirely on solar power, with an internal rechargeable battery charged by the solar panel on the top of the fitting. No mains connection or wiring is required.
What is the PIR detection range?
The passive infrared motion sensor typically detects movement within 3-5m of the fitting, depending on the angle of approach and ambient conditions. The sensor activates the LED when motion is detected and switches it off after a preset duration to conserve battery charge.
How long does the battery last per charge?
A full charge provides up to 14 hours of runtime, though this varies depending on the operating mode selected and the frequency of motion activations. In winter months with shorter daylight hours, runtime may be reduced.
Can it be used in exposed positions?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashing, making the fitting suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as under eaves, covered porches, or recessed doorways. It is not rated for fully exposed positions subject to driving rain or submersion.
