The Sawback is a Quoizel Tiffany accent lamp shaped as a turtle, with a shell built from individual hand-cut stained glass pieces in amber, olive and rust tones soldered together in a domed hexagonal pattern. The vintage bronze base forms the turtle's head, flippers and underside, giving the lamp a 281mm nose-to-tail length and a 193mm width across the shell. A single 3W LED G9 bulb (included) sits inside the shell cavity, lighting the stained glass from within.

Designed for bedside tables, desks and low shelving where a decorative accent lamp provides atmosphere rather than task lighting, the Sawback casts warm 3000K light through the amber and olive glass panels when switched on. The compact 100mm height and turtle form suit spaces where a standard table lamp would overpower the surface, including children's rooms, reading nooks and side tables in living rooms. The bronze base texture mimics turtle skin detail and the flippers are positioned as if the turtle is mid-crawl.

Each glass panel in the shell shows slight variation in tone and opacity depending on how the stained glass was cut, so no two Sawback lamps look identical when lit. The vintage bronze finish on the metal base has a darker patina in recessed areas and a lighter tone on raised edges, giving depth to the sculptural detail. The included LED bulb draws 3W on 12V, producing enough light to read a menu or navigate a room after dark without providing full ambient lighting for larger spaces.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. The Sawback includes a 3W LED G9 bulb rated at 3000K warm white. The G9 socket is a bi-pin capsule fitting, commonly available if the bulb needs replacing in future.

Can the bulb be replaced with a brighter one?

The maximum rating is 3W on 12V. Using a higher-wattage G9 bulb risks overheating the enclosed glass shell and voiding the warranty. The lamp is designed as an accent light rather than a primary light source.

How is the stained glass shell cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid household glass cleaners, which can leave residue on the soldered lead lines between glass panels.

Is the lamp suitable for children's rooms?

The lamp provides low-level ambient light suitable for a nightlight or bedside reading lamp in a child's room. The bronze base is solid resin and the stained glass is soldered, so the lamp has no loose parts. Supervision is recommended for very young children due to the glass construction.
