Description
The Sandbanks is a 600mm stainless steel bollard light machined from marine-grade 316 stainless steel with a horizontal-louvred top diffuser and an E27 bulb socket. The 316-grade alloy contains molybdenum, giving it greater resistance to salt-air corrosion than standard 304 stainless, making the Sandbanks suitable for coastal pathways, seafront developments and any outdoor installation where salt spray or extreme weather is a factor.
Designed for driveways, garden paths, courtyard perimeters and commercial landscaping where durable ground-level illumination is needed, the bollard projects light downwards through the louvred cap while the cylinder body prevents glare at eye level. The 600mm height suits pathway edge-lighting where the fixture needs to mark a route without obstructing sightlines. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes and windblown dust, allowing year-round outdoor use in UK weather.
The bollard accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 40W (sold separately), giving control over light colour, temperature and brightness depending on the application. The 102mm diameter base mounts to a solid surface via pre-drilled holes in the bottom flange. The brushed stainless finish weathers evenly over time, developing a natural patina rather than rusting or flaking, and requires no painting or protective coating.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between 316 and standard stainless steel?
Marine-grade 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, which gives it greater resistance to chloride corrosion and salt-air pitting than 304 stainless. This makes the Sandbanks suitable for coastal installations, seafront paths and any outdoor location where salt spray is present.
What bulb does it take?
The bollard takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 4-9W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting.
How is it installed?
The 102mm diameter base flange has pre-drilled mounting holes. The bollard must be fixed to a solid surface such as concrete, paving or a buried concrete pad. Cable entry is through the bottom of the column, requiring a buried conduit run to the power source.
Can the light direction be adjusted?
No. The louvred top diffuser is fixed and projects light downwards. The design prevents glare at eye level while illuminating the ground around the bollard in a circular pattern.
