Description

The Sally is a 100mm trimless recessed downlight with an integrated 11W LED delivering 3000K warm white light. The fitting is designed to sit flush with plasterboard or panel ceilings, with the white painted bezel plastered over during installation to create an uninterrupted ceiling surface. A black aluminium heat sink sits above the ceiling void to dissipate LED heat without visible ventilation grilles.

Designed for residential and commercial interiors where recessed lighting is needed without visible trim rings, the Sally suits living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, kitchens, offices and retail spaces with plasterboard or suspended ceilings. The 100mm aperture and warm 3000K output provide soft ambient or accent light without the higher-intensity glare of cooler colour temperatures. The trimless design works particularly well in minimalist, contemporary and architectural interiors where ceiling-mounted fittings would disrupt clean lines.

The fitting body is die-cast aluminium with a white powder-coated finish on the visible bezel. The trimless installation requires the bezel to be taped off during plastering, then the tape removed to reveal a perfectly flush join between the fitting and the ceiling surface. The IP40 rating provides protection from dust and solid objects over 1mm, making it suitable for dry indoor environments. The Sally is not dimmable and requires mains wiring into a ceiling void with at least 80mm clearance above the plasterboard for the heat sink.

How is the trimless finish achieved?

The white bezel is taped off with masking tape during ceiling plastering or skimming. Once the plaster has dried, the tape is removed to reveal a flush join between the fitting and the ceiling surface. The bezel itself is not plastered over — only the gap between the bezel and the ceiling is filled.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 80mm clearance above the plasterboard is needed to accommodate the aluminium heat sink and LED driver assembly. Installations in shallow voids will cause overheating and may void the warranty.

Is the Sally suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP40 rating provides dust protection only, not moisture protection. Bathrooms require IP44 or IP65 rated fittings depending on the zone. The Sally is designed for dry indoor spaces such as living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and kitchens.

Can it be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED is not dimmable. Connecting the Sally to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering, buzzing or failure of the LED driver.
