Description

The Sally is a 100mm trimless recessed downlight with an integrated 11W COB LED delivering 3000K warm white light through a black die-cast aluminium housing. The trimless design sits flush with the ceiling surface once plastered in, leaving no visible bezel or rim — the circular aperture appears cut directly into the plasterboard with only the black inner reflector and COB chip visible from below.

Designed for plaster-in installation in plasterboard or panel ceilings, the Sally suits residential and commercial interiors where a minimal architectural finish is required. The 100mm diameter aperture provides focused ambient light for hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and retail spaces without the visual break of traditional downlight bezels. The warm 3000K colour temperature softens shadows and pairs well with residential colour schemes.

The black finish on both the housing and internal reflector reduces glare and allows the fitting to recede into darker ceilings or contrast cleanly against white plaster. The die-cast aluminium construction acts as a passive heat sink for the 11W COB LED, which is rated for 30,000 hours of continuous operation. The IP40 rating provides dust protection suitable for dry indoor environments, but the fitting is not rated for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor use.

Installation requires a ceiling void depth of at least 90mm to accommodate the rear heat sink fins visible in the product image. The trimless design means the plasterboard is cut to the exact aperture diameter and finished flush with the edge of the fitting, so careful installation is needed to avoid visible gaps once painted. The fitting is supplied with a separate plaster-in frame that holds the downlight module in position during installation.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP40 rating provides dust protection but no water ingress protection. For bathrooms, wet rooms or shower rooms, you need a downlight rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The rear heat sink fins require a minimum ceiling void depth of 90mm for safe installation and adequate thermal clearance. Measure your ceiling void before ordering.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 11W COB LED is integrated into the housing and cannot be replaced. The LED is rated for 30,000 hours of continuous operation, equivalent to approximately 10 years of typical domestic use. At end of life, the entire fitting is replaced.
