Description

The Sally is an 85mm recessed downlight with an integrated 11W COB LED at 2700K, housed in a die-cast aluminium trim finished in matt black. The fixed-beam design casts light straight down from the ceiling plane, making it suitable for general ambient lighting in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-3m. The 85mm aperture and black trim give a defined circular aperture once fitted flush to plasterboard or panel ceilings.

Designed for residential living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens, the Sally provides 11W of warm white light at 2700K, producing a softer, warmer tone than cooler LEDs. The COB (chip-on-board) LED construction concentrates multiple diodes onto a single module, increasing light density and reducing visible dotting compared to multi-diode arrays. The downlight is non-dimmable and operates on 230V mains via a ceiling-mounted driver (typically housed in the void above the plasterboard).

The die-cast aluminium construction handles the thermal load from the LED without requiring active cooling, and the IP40 rating protects internal components from dust ingress in standard interior environments. The black trim contrasts with white ceilings to create a defined circular detail, or blends into dark ceilings for a more concealed fitting. Installation requires a circular ceiling cut-out and access to the ceiling void for wiring and driver placement. The fitting carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.
