Description

The Rove-2 is a single-pendant light with a conical shade cast from concrete in a grey finish, suspended on a 2000mm black fabric cable from a metal ceiling rose. The shade measures 150mm diameter at the base and 200mm tall, with an E27 bulb fitting inside directing light downwards through the open base of the cone.

Designed for focused task lighting over kitchen islands, dining tables and worktops, the Rove-2 suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where the pendant can hang 700-900mm above the surface below. The concrete shade is solid-cast rather than hollow moulded, giving the fitting a substantial weight and presence once installed. The grey finish shows subtle tonal variation across the surface depending on the section of the concrete pour, with occasional air pockets and texture marks visible on close inspection as part of the casting process.

The 2000mm cable allows adjustment on installation to suit different ceiling heights and suspension preferences. The shade accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb. Is the Rove-2 dimmable?

Yes. The fitting itself supports dimming, but you must pair it with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if connected to a dimmer.

What bulb does it take?

The Rove-2 takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb at 2700K-3000K for focused task light over dining or kitchen surfaces.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas only. IP20 fittings are not rated for bathroom zones where moisture or splashing may occur.

Does the concrete finish vary between pieces?

Yes. Each shade is cast from concrete, so tonal variation, surface texture, air pockets and minor casting marks differ between individual pieces. This is characteristic of the material and production method, not a defect.
