Description

The Maytoni DL058 is an 80mm diameter recessed LED downlight with an integrated 12W 3000K LED module behind a brushed brass bezel. The aluminium housing sits flush with the ceiling surface, leaving only the circular brass rim visible from below. The fixed-position LED casts warm white light through a central reflector that channels the beam downwards without glare when viewed from typical standing or seated positions.

Designed for dry interior spaces with IP20 rating, the downlight suits living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and dining areas where recessed ceiling lighting provides ambient coverage without pendant or surface-mounted fittings. The 60mm housing depth fits standard ceiling voids above plasterboard or timber ceilings. The brass finish adds a warm metallic accent that pairs with both contemporary and transitional interiors, particularly where brass taps, handles or other fixtures establish a warm metal theme across the room.

The 12W LED at 3000K produces warm white light comparable to traditional halogen downlights but with significantly lower power draw and heat output. The aluminium construction includes integral heat-sinking fins on the rear housing, dissipating heat away from the LED module to maintain consistent output and extend service life. The 80mm diameter bezel requires a ceiling aperture slightly smaller than 80mm to allow the rim to sit on the ceiling surface. Check the installation manual for the exact cut-out diameter — typically 70-75mm for this model.

Is the LED dimmable?

The integrated 12W LED module may be compatible with certain leading-edge or trailing-edge dimmers, but dimmer compatibility varies by model. Contact us before installation if dimming is required, as not all 220-240V LED drivers support dimming without flicker.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means this downlight is not protected against moisture ingress. It is suitable only for dry interior spaces. For bathrooms, kitchens or other areas where moisture or splashing may occur, use an IP44 or IP65-rated downlight instead.

What depth ceiling void is required?

The housing depth is 60mm. Allow at least 70mm of clear void space above the ceiling to accommodate the housing and provide airflow around the heat-sinking fins for safe operation.
