Description

The Riggs is a single-light wall fitting with a ribbed glass cylinder set between weathered brass collars, mounted on a circular weathered brass backplate. The fitting takes one E27 bulb up to 40W (sold separately) and carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 where moisture protection is required.

Designed for flanking bathroom mirrors, vanity lighting and hallway wall positions, the Riggs provides direct task light downward through the ribbed glass while the vertical ribbing diffuses the light across a wider wash. The 179mm projection from the wall keeps the glass cylinder clear of mirror surfaces while the 140mm diameter keeps the footprint compact enough for smaller bathrooms and cloakrooms.

The weathered brass finish shows darker bronze tones in the recesses of the metalwork, giving the fitting a patinated appearance rather than the uniform brightness of polished brass. The ribbed glass cylinder is clear rather than frosted, so the choice of bulb affects the light quality — a warm-white LED filament bulb at 2700K gives a soft vintage look, while a brighter 3000K LED suits task lighting at a mirror. The IP44 rating protects the lamp holder and internal wiring from splashes but the fitting is not suitable for shower enclosures or directly above baths.

Is this suitable for bathroom use?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes the Riggs suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers positions beside mirrors, on side walls and outside the immediate shower or bath area. It is not rated for zone 0 or 1 (inside the shower enclosure or directly above the bath).

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED filament bulb at 2700K-3000K for task lighting at a bathroom mirror.

Can the glass be replaced if damaged?

The ribbed glass cylinder is held in place by the top and bottom brass collars. Replacement glass is not sold separately by Quoizel, so handle the glass carefully during installation and cleaning.
