Description

The RekorHD is an 8-channel analogue CCTV system built around a DVR with a pre-installed 4TB hard drive, supplied with 4 x 2MP dome cameras rated IP66 for outdoor installation. The DVR records at 1920 x 1080 resolution per camera using H.265 video compression, which halves the storage requirements compared to H.264 and extends the recording window before the hard drive loops. Each camera has a 3.6mm fixed lens covering approximately 80° horizontal field of view and infrared LEDs providing night vision to 30m.

Designed for perimeter security on residential properties, small business premises and car parks with up to 8 camera positions, the kit includes cables and 12V power supplies for all 4 cameras. The DVR supports continuous, scheduled and motion-triggered recording modes, with USB backup for transferring footage to external drives. Remote monitoring runs through the RekorHD app on Android and iOS, or through a web browser on PC, allowing live view and playback from outside the property.

The system incorporates perimeter intrusion detection and line crossing detection, which define virtual boundaries on the camera view and trigger alerts when crossed. This reduces false alarms from passing traffic or wildlife compared to simple motion detection. The DVR allows simultaneous playback, recording and remote viewing without interrupting other functions. The white dome housings measure approximately 110mm diameter and mount to soffits, eaves or external walls using the supplied brackets.

Yes. The DVR has 8 channels, so 4 additional cameras can be connected provided they are compatible analogue HD cameras rated at 2MP or lower. Additional cameras, cables and power supplies are sold separately.

What recording time does the 4TB drive provide?

Recording duration depends on resolution, compression settings and whether cameras record continuously or on motion detection. With H.265 compression and 4 cameras recording continuously at 2MP, expect approximately 30-45 days before the drive loops and overwrites oldest footage.

Are the cameras suitable for outdoor installation?

Yes. All 4 dome cameras carry IP66 weatherproof rating, meaning they are dust-tight and protected against heavy rain and jets of water. They can be mounted on external walls, soffits and eaves exposed to UK weather.

How is remote viewing accessed?

Download the RekorHD app on Android or iOS, or access the DVR through a web browser on PC. The DVR must be connected to a home or business network via Ethernet, and port forwarding or cloud relay may be required depending on router configuration.
