Description

The RekorHD 8-channel analogue CCTV kit is a complete surveillance system combining an 8-channel DVR with a pre-installed 4TB hard drive, four 2MP bullet cameras rated to IP66, and all required cabling and power supplies. The DVR records at 1080p resolution across all channels and uses H.265 video compression to store approximately 30-40 days of continuous footage from four cameras on the 4TB drive, depending on scene activity and motion detection settings.

Designed for residential, small business and workshop installation, the system suits properties requiring perimeter monitoring across driveways, entrances, car parks and outbuildings. The four bullet cameras include infrared LEDs providing up to 30m night vision in total darkness, and the IP66 weatherproof rating allows outdoor mounting in exposed positions. The DVR supports intelligent detection modes including perimeter intrusion (virtual fence) and line crossing, triggering alerts when movement crosses a defined boundary rather than recording every motion event.

The 8-channel DVR leaves four spare channels for future camera expansion without replacing the recorder. Remote monitoring is accessible via the RekorHD mobile app for Android and iOS, or through PC software, allowing live view and playback from any internet connection. The system supports simultaneous playback, recording and remote viewing, so checking archived footage does not interrupt ongoing recording. USB backup transfers video evidence to a flash drive without removing the hard drive from the DVR. The mouse-driven interface configures recording schedules, motion zones and alert settings without requiring command-line input.

Each bullet camera uses a fixed 3.6mm lens providing approximately 80-degree horizontal field of view, suitable for monitoring defined zones such as doorways, driveways and pathways rather than wide-area coverage. The grey housing on both DVR and cameras pairs with render, concrete and galvanised steel exteriors common in commercial and industrial settings. The system runs on 12V DC power supplied via the included power supply units, with separate power feeds to the DVR and cameras for stable operation under load.

Frequently Asked

How many days of footage does the 4TB drive store?

Approximately 30-40 days of continuous recording from all four cameras, depending on scene activity and whether motion detection or continuous recording mode is used. H.265 compression reduces file sizes compared to older H.264 systems, extending storage time on the same drive capacity.

Can additional cameras be added later?

Yes. The 8-channel DVR supports up to eight cameras total. Four channels are pre-configured for the included cameras, leaving four spare channels for future expansion. Additional cameras must be analogue HD (AHD, TVI or CVI) compatible with 2MP resolution.

What's the night vision range?

Each bullet camera includes infrared LEDs rated to 30m in total darkness. Actual range depends on ambient light, camera angle and the reflectivity of surfaces in the scene. Most installations achieve 20-25m useful range for identifying movement and vehicles at night.

Is the system suitable for outdoor installation?

The four bullet cameras carry IP66 weatherproof rating, allowing outdoor mounting in rain, wind and direct sun. The DVR itself is not weatherproof and must be installed indoors in a dry location such as a utility room, cupboard or office. All outdoor cable connections require weatherproof junction boxes or sealed cable entry into the building.
