The RekorHD 8-channel analogue CCTV kit pairs an 8-channel DVR with a pre-installed 2TB hard drive and four 2MP bullet cameras in white weatherproof housings. The DVR records at 1080p resolution using H.265 video compression, which reduces file sizes and extends the usable recording time on the 2TB drive compared to older H.264 compression. Each camera carries an IP66 rating for outdoor installation and includes a 3.6mm fixed lens with 30m infrared night vision range.

Designed for residential perimeter security, small commercial properties and light industrial applications, the system supports continuous recording, scheduled recording or motion-triggered recording modes. The DVR includes perimeter intrusion detection and line-crossing detection, which can be configured to trigger alerts when movement crosses a virtual boundary drawn on the camera view. Remote monitoring is available via Android and iOS apps or Windows PC software, allowing live view, playback and recording management from off-site. The system supports simultaneous playback, recording and remote viewing without performance degradation.

The kit includes all necessary cabling and a 12V power supply capable of running four cameras. The DVR operates via mouse-driven menus and supports USB backup for transferring footage to external drives. The four cameras included in this kit leave four channels available for future expansion — additional RekorHD analogue cameras can be added to the system up to the 8-channel limit without replacing the DVR.

Each bullet camera housing is constructed from weatherproof polymer with a tinted dome over the infrared LEDs. The 2MP sensor captures 1920x1080 resolution footage in daylight and switches automatically to monochrome infrared mode in low light. The 3.6mm lens provides a horizontal field of view of approximately 80-90 degrees, suitable for monitoring driveways, building entrances, side passages and car parks at ranges of 5-20m from the camera position.

How long does 2TB record for?

Recording duration depends on compression settings, resolution and motion activity. With H.265 compression at 2MP on all four cameras running continuous recording, expect 15-25 days of footage before the drive overwrites. Motion-triggered recording extends this significantly.

Can I add more cameras later?

Yes. The DVR has 8 channels and this kit includes 4 cameras, leaving 4 channels free. Additional RekorHD analogue cameras can be added up to the 8-channel limit without replacing the DVR or hard drive.

What's the night vision range?

Each camera has infrared LEDs rated for 30m range in total darkness. Actual visibility depends on ambient light — in partial darkness (streetlights, moonlight) the effective range is greater. The cameras switch automatically between colour daylight mode and monochrome infrared mode.

Is professional installation required?

The kit includes all cables and power supplies needed for a 4-camera installation. Basic DIY installation is feasible if you're comfortable drilling mounting holes and running cable through loft spaces or along exterior walls. Professional installation is recommended for multi-storey buildings or complex cable routing.
